Having been in the pub all day it was only a matter of time before this girl’s head started to hurt but it may have happened sooner than expected when she took an unexpected tumble.

Drunk girl, awning Girl takes a break before rather painfully discovering gravity (Picture: YouTube/ jbrandy417)

The clip of the incident, captured on a grainy video recorder, starts off with a giggling blonde sitting comfortably on top of a window awning.

It was uploaded onto video-sharing website YouTube with the attached caption: ‘A friend of mine had been at the pub all day. She wouldn’t take my advice and get [off the awning] so I decided to record!’

It’s immediately clear the giggling girl won’t be relaxing for too much longer, with her friend behind the camera warning: ‘I’m going to sit and record you until you drop because it’s only a matter of time.’

Relaxing with a beer, she replies: ‘It’s not going to drop’ seconds before the flimsy cover gives way and she goes crashing towards the ground in truly epic comic timing.

The clip has racked up nearly 500,000 views on YouTube and received thousands of likes.

The amateur recorder concluded by saying: ‘She was okay in the end!’

Forget all the corporate blather about apartial deregulationa – today the Solicitors Regulation Authority board chose to dump the minimum salary for trainee solicitors.

It was a gutless, thoughtless and morally reprehensible decision, taken on flimsy grounds and with little or no debate. In passing on its responsibility, the regulator will instead rely on the national minimum wage of APS6.08 an hour. With tips thrown in, youad be better off working at McDonald’s flipping burgers.

Flame retardant chemicals have become so ubiquitous–there’s two pounds of the stuff in just the cushions of a large couch—because we’ve accepted the health dangers are worth the protection they provide against fire.A Except, there is no scientific basis for the claim that flame retardants save lives.

Part threeA in the series, published today, is a systematic debunking of the few studies the industry has continuously cited as evidence for the efficacy of flame retardants. One obscure Swedish study, available only in Swedish, relied on flimsy evidence from just eight electrical fires caused by TVs. The peer-reviewed paper also lists a PR specialist among its authors. The lead scientist of another study has disavowed what he calls the industry’s “grossly distorted” flogging of his work, which looked at levels of flame retardants far above industry standard in household furniture.A These examples and many more show how scientific authority has been manipulated for profit:
